The Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel is currently searching for a qualified Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance Department.

This is a full time position, 5 days per week. May include AM and PM shifts as well as weekends.

DUTIES

Assist with maintenance operations for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, hotel rooms, AC and heating units, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc. Ensure all projects are completed on time and according to specifications. Work closely with other departments to ensure coordination of activities. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram forms. Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment in and around the hotel. Accurate record keeping on assigned tasks is required. Establishes preventative maintenance procedures and evaluates existing preventive maintenance for current applications. Ensure that all safety systems are operable. Comply with an ongoing maintenance program. Assist with performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Tend furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests. Maintain standards of quality guest service. Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations. Must have hotel or experience in industrial maintenance. Requires in depth knowledge in electrical, HVAC, refrigeration and general knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and machine logic. Experience of life safety systems a plus. High school education and relevant training and experience required.  Additional education preferred. Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates. Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
